The Transformers franchise has been rolling out since the 1980s, with numerous iterations of the series pitting various factions of robots in disguise against each other. Seen as an American property, the series is, in actuality, largely a collaboration between a Japanese and an American company. This has resulted in many of the brand's TV shows actually being anime.
