Renee's interest in anime began one night when she discovered Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind airing on TCM. At CBR, Renee contributes regularly to the site's anime section, but has also written articles about popular video game and film franchises. She is also fascinated by the anime industry itself, and enjoys chronicling the reactions of fans to new franchise developments and releases. She also used to have a fascination with bizarre D&D Reddit tales and dedicated several earlier pieces to them.

Growing up, Renee spent most of her free time either writing or persuing the anime and manga sections at her local library. WHile she likes a variety of genres, she is particularly fond of slice-of-life and romantic comedy. At the moment, her two favorite series are Spy x Family and Sasaki and Miyano.
