Sean Gunn is playing Maxwell Lord in James Gunn's DCU, and this offers the chance to better portray the former Justice League ally on the big screen.

Sean Gunn's DC Universe version of Maxwell Lord can redeem the character after Wonder Woman 1984.
The new DCU can portray Maxwell Lord's more sympathetic and heroic traits from before Infinite Crisis.
Likewise, the DCU can use Maxwell Lord to introduce the Justice League International team.
