About Via Laurene
Via Laurene is a Movie and Television Feature Writer for CBR. She's had a love of both watching and making films since her first film analysis and production classes in school. Via has a B.A. In English and Creative Writing. Via also writes horror fiction and poetry. Her debut poetry chapbook, "Leaving the Skin," was published in 2018. Surprisingly, her poems in this are about nature, not horror. Be advised against asking her favorite movie because the scope is too big for her to choose and it will make her cry.
Favorite Media
Via loves horror in all types of media, be it film, books, comics, or gaming. Dark fantasy films of the 80s and 90s were her gateway into the genre. Her other favorite is sci-fi. As a kid, she'd walk down the horror movie aisle of her local video store and make up stories based on the cover art. Some of her favorite movies and television include The Howling, Pan's Labyrinth, The Princess Bride, Moulin Rouge, Mike Flanagan, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Loki, and The Boys. Her other part-time job is Baldur's Gate 3.
Industry Focus
Via started as a feature writer for CBR in 2023. She previously wrote for HorrorFuel with a focus in horror comics. She is a writer, actor, and producer with the production company, Echo Eterna, based in Dayton, OH.
