About Sayantan Gayen
Sayantan Gayen (he/him) is a CBR writer from India who loves good storytelling more than anything else. He loves to travel and explore new cuisines but also has a habit of gulping down his favorite foods from time to time. His power to bore people to death with Kaiju lore is only rivaled by his fixation on memes from The Lord of the Rings. He also collects action figures from his favorite franchises.
Author Details
Sayantan's love for comic books led him to CBR as a writer, and the rest is history. Since then, he has written on a variety of topics, not only to share his views but also to bring to light new knowledge on beloved franchises. He has a Master's Degree in Energy Tech., and loves playing single-player games and watching soccer in his pastime.
Industry Focus
Sayantan mostly writes about superhero comic books from DC, Marvel Comics, Image, IDW Publishing, and other indie publishers. He started his career at CBR as a comic book reviewer before expanding into other departments, writing about anime, live-action media, and movies. Currently, he is having fun delving deep into nerdy lore with articles and lists that provide readers with a new perspective.
Favorite Media
Sayantan has been a lifelong fan of DC since the day he first laid eyes on the live-action Batman '66 series as a three-year-old. However, the first comic book he ever read was Tintin: The Black Island. He is an avid consumer of books and movies. While Akira Kurosawa's Yojimbo remains his favorite movie, his favorite franchises are The Lord of the Rings trilogy and Godzilla. He loves playing video games, like Batman: Arkham series, Mortal Kombat, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, God of War, and Ghost of Tsushima.
